Levels of Care & Treatment for Drug and Alcohol Addiction

Our comprehensive treatment program offers a range of levels of care, starting with a more intensive, supportive treatment program, and decreasing to a less-structured clinical program that supports outpatient therapy and a re-integration into the community.

Medical Detox

Safe Withdrawal

Addiction or substance abuse is a complex psycho-chemical problem. A person with an addiction experiences cravings that persist even in the face of extremely negative consequences. During a craving, a person with an addiction misses the habit-forming drug terribly, and often he or she experiences symptoms of withdrawal. Withdrawal is dangerous and/or uncomfortable without effective medical detox.

Residential Treatment (RTC)

Intensive regimen of clinical services

This is typically the first part of the treatment program once an individual has completed Detox, or is first entering treatment directly. In this level of care, it is expected that the guest may still be experiencing some post-acute withdrawal symptoms (PAWS) from the substance(s) they were using. At this level, the guest will likely require additional medical monitoring, and might be more medically-compromised. For these reasons, guests who are in the RTC level of care will have limited movement outside of the treatment facility. Guests will remain at our facility, and be under the direct supervision of staff 24 hours a day. Guests will attend individual and group psychotherapy throughout the day and will be seen by an MD/DO or ANRP/PA-C at least twice weekly. Additionally, you might also have the opportunity to attend in-house 12 step meetings in the evenings.

Intensive Outpatient (IOP) & Outpatient (OP)

Getting free from addiction

At these levels of care, the guest is now living independently, and focusing on recovery as their priority, while also developing skills necessary in returning to a productive, functional and emotionally-balanced way of life. IOP and OP levels of care can span from 60 to 90 days, and serves the valuable purpose of continuing to address treatment goals, and particularly the goal of Relapse Prevention. Furthermore, these levels of care provide increased community connection and support, while simultaneously offering some appropriate guidance and supervision on the journey towards complete independence.

We offer IOP and OP care in both our Margate, Florida and Philadelphia, PA treatment centers.

Partial Hospitalization (PHP)

Day/Night with Community Housing

At this level of care, the guest will continue to participate in individual and group psychotherapy, but will also be able to incorporate a slow re-integration back into the community. Moreover, your frequency in Medical/Psych follow ups will be decreased to at least once weekly, unless it is determined more frequent visits is medically necessary.

Continuing Treatment Aftercare

Take the reward of sobriety anywhere

Our continuing-care program serves as a testament to the dedication and commitment that Holistix Treatment Centers shows every one of our clients. In turn, the client’s own dedication and commitment are, in the last analysis, what will ensure continuing sobriety. This is a matter of the client developing habits to support his or her recovery—habits of thoughtful introspection; participation in 12-step groups; prayer and meditation (or a secular equivalent); and general attention to self-care. For example, a client will have learned a new, optimized approach to healthy eating through our nutrition program, but unless this is internalized as a new habit the positive effect will fade like last summer’s tan.

Equally important is the concept of service. When service to others becomes a habit, it becomes a thing of joy rather than an obligation or a chore, and the recovering addict will experience true freedom.
